For the 52 Books in 52 Weeks prompt Re-do One of the Previous Challenges for This Year, I decided to re-do the prompt Published in 2021 because there were a lot of books I wanted to read that were published in 2021 and didn't count for any other prompts I still needed. I read three books here, but I'm only counting one for the challenge.
Month: September 2021
Giovanni’s Room: Book Review and a Look at Books that Reference It
For the 52 Books in 52 Weeks prompt An Author That is Deceased, I picked Giovanni's Room by James Baldwin because he died in the '80s. I also decided to compare it to two other books I've read that referenced Giovanni's Room, Swimming in the Dark by Tomasz Jedrowski and Call Me By Your Name by Andre Aciman, just to see how similar they are and examine why they may have referenced them.
Boyfriend Material: Book Review and Comparison to Red, White & Royal Blue
For the 52 Books in 52 Weeks prompt Featuring the Legal Profession, I picked Boyfriend Material by Alexis Hall because the love interest is a barrister. I also decided to compare it to another book, Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston, because I've seen people thinking these two books are the same and I also thought when I first saw the cover of this book that they would be more similar than they are.
Swimming in the Dark: Book Review and Comparison to Other Books
For the 52 Books in 52 Weeks prompt Author with a 9 Letter Last Name, I picked Swimming in the Dark by Tomasz Jedrowski because it was one of my anticipated release of 2020 and I never got around to reading it that year, so I decided to finally do it.
